Rubblebucket, Paste Party, Stage on Sixth, Austin, 15 March 2012, SXSW2012

The band were really fun and had some good dance moves. They had a great horn section (trumpet and trombone) and the singer sounded like Bjork, Eddi Reader, Lily Allen or Florence Welch and also played a huge saxophone when not singing. The drummer hit pads to give huge rumbling deep drum sounds.

The backing sounded at times like a 80s teen movie soundtrack, but the whole set was real joyous sunshine pop.

They were joined in the crowd by two huge robot puppets, who fought each other, then the band joined them, dance round the room, played what they said was going to be the last song, then realised they had time for one more.

They were like a Brooklyn Zutons. It was a really fun show, and quite a event, too!
