Alejandro Escovedo, ACL Moody Theatre, Austin, 15 March 2012, SXSW 2012

Alejandro played a great opening song, about Sally, with good oh-oh-oh backing vocals.

He then segued straight into another rocker, This Ain't Love, with great seating guitar work, though it was surprising to see Bruno Brooks playing guitar in the band:

The songs were strong, a bit Tom Petty, a bit Rolling Stones. He played a good, quietish song off the new album that he wrote with Chuck Prophet, and another more rock one they also wrote together, The Bottom of the World. A great rocking set, and some interesting tunes.
