Band of Skulls, 14 March 2012, Haven, Austin, SXSW 2012
Band of Skulls played great heavy bluesy rock, which brought to mind Dead Weather, White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age or Motörhead.
They had crunching guitars and danceable basslines. The new song 'Bruises' was poppy, with good harmonies and a really melodic pre-chorus. You're Not Pretty But You've Got It Going On and Devil Takes Care of His Own really good. The crowd enthusiastically cheered song names and there were lines of people headbanging along all through the set. They ended with a rocking Built by Diamonds and Pearls.
